Applause er den første single fra det kommende album Artpop, som udkommer den 11. november.

Sangen er skrevet og produceret af Lady Gaga og Paul “DJ White Shadow” Blair og indspillet af Dave Russell i Record Plant i Hollywood og Platinum Sound Recording Studio i New York.

Lady Gaga skal optræde med Applause på årets MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD show i Barclays Center i Brooklyn, N.Y. d. 25. august.
