John Hiatt har valgt at besøge Danmark under hans turné, nærmere betegnet til Amager Bio den 2. juli 2012.

John Hiatt er blandt andet kendt som både rock-guitarist, pianist og singer-songwriter. Han har eksperimenteret med mange forskellige musikgenrer igennem hans karriere, og hans musik er, udover rock, inspireret af new wave, blues og country.

I sine teenageår begyndte han at optræde på lokale klubber i hjembyen Indianapolis. Han valgte at flytte derfra i 1970’erne og videre til musik-mekkaet Nashville, hvor han blev ansat som sangskriver hos Tree-Music Publishing for 25$ om ugen. Han skrev 250 sange for firmaet, inden han forsøgte sig med sin solo karriere.

i 1974 udgav John sit første album “Hangin’ Around the Observatory”, og i 1987 slog han for alvor igennem med sit 8. studiealbum “Bring The Family”. Singlen ”Have a Little Faith in Me” fra albummet, er efterfølgende blevet udgivet i utallige coverversioner med Joe Cocker, Jewel, Bon Jovi og andre store kunstnere.

Lige nu er John Hiatt aktuel med sit 20. studiealbum “Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns”. Til koncerten i Amager Bio, forventes det at han vil fremføre numre fra det nye album, samt perler fra forgængerne.
